Reseeding would have been important this year. Umpire's zone in the Tech-TCU game was all over the board. Wouldn't call strikes at the knees, but sometimes gave pitchers a strike on a ball 4 to 6 inches outside to a right handed hitter. Then later a pitch inside that one, would be called a ball.
Tech's closer has been good all year, but he had the nervous nellies out there, and got rocked. Luken Baker by the way, is the real deal. Mashes the ball like Reggie Jackson used to do. Don't throw inside corner waist up to him. It's going out of the park. Only question is whether it will be fair or foul
I really think that the SEC and ACC were pumped up to be something they weren't this year. I said before the field of 64 that those two conferences, based on what I'd seen of them on limited television, were overrated, and that's proved to be true.
Florida may have won the SEC tourney but they weren't near as good as some other teams around the country, and that's proving itself to be true. Sorry FSU didn't make it to Omaha. I thought they had a chance to win it all, if they got some consistency from their bullpen.
And Okie St is my choice to emerge victorious this year. Their pitching is stellar. They make defensive plays, and they win close games.
We'll see about Florida and Tech today. I think the Red Raiders win this one, and start a comeback, but you're right Hatched....defense in that game Sunday was atrocious. Coastal vs TCU will come down to offense I believe. Who can execute against decent pitching?
