One thing I would be careful about is adding too many boards. I know we are wanting to grow the membership, but at this time I think we have TOO MANY boards. And because some boards might go a couple days without a post, then people quit "checking" that board on a daily basis and then the board starts to go weeks without a post.
Remember when we tried having a board for every conference? People THINK they want more boards, but in the end it just becomes too much trouble to check them all.
The most successful Marshall board, one I visit regularly, has a simple compact setup that encourages participation because you don't have to check 10 boards a day.
They have the following.........
1) A Main Marshall forum (for Herd sports)
2) General sports forum (for all other sports and smack talk)
3) Recruiting board
4) Non-sports board(generally turns political, but also other good conversations about restaraunts, bars, etc)
Just a thought, I think it would increase participation.
