Nebraska got tanked by Iowa. Hopefully we just hit a wall, as mentioned, when Tommy is bad, we are bad. Our backup had a broken wrist from the Maryland game and it was not desired for him to play, though he did get in at the end. No positives from the game. Nobody played well. Plus one of our OLinemen is being fingered for using racial slurs. If that's true, I'm glad we got trucked. Iowa beat us up with big plays early and they controlled the line of scrimmage in the 2nd half. So same old Nebraska. 9 wins that nobody remembers, 3 losses, 2 of which everybody will remember.
Florida State blows out a completely worthless Florida offense. Another year where the only Gator points were off of FSU mistakes. Big game for Dalvin Cook and several members of the FSU defensive front. UF is going to get absolutely destroyed by Bama next weekend. Francois still gets hit too much but the OLine held up better tonight. Not the season FSU fans were expecting, but after the UNC game we expected the bottom to fall out and finish in the 6-6 range. Instead we are 9-3 and hearing whispers that the Orange Bowl wants us and Michigan, given Louisville's collapse. This was the first time in a while that UF didn't have a pillow week the week before FSU, and it showed. (We played Syracuse).
I thought Michigan absolutely dominated Ohio State but made three horrendous mistakes that cost them the game. 2 interceptions and a dropped snap at the 1 that changed an overtime game by 21 points. I thought there was a point in the 3rd quarter where they should have been up 24-0 or 31-0. Ohio State took it when given (mostly), but I didn't see a playoff team. Especially if Penn State wins next week, I think Ohio State needs to be cheering for a VT win in the ACC CG to open up a spot in the playoff for them. Harbaugh also cost UM dearly. He was a total baby about the game today, he cost his team yards and probably calls, but I guess if it takes pressure off of his QB's performance, then it's a good thing maybe?
Jackson had 450 yards today but a terrible fumble late costs UL the game against a mediocre Kentucky team. So I think I'm back to DeShaun Watson for Heisman, who led Clemson to a total destruction of South Carolina. I'd want Jackson, Didi Westbrook, Dalvin Cook, and Jake Browning to go to New York as well. I get that Foreman has run well for Texas and he deserves some love too.
Syracuse scores 61 and it's not nearly enough. Pitt goes for 76. Navy went for 75 against SMU, and neither has the most points of the day. That was Middle Tennessee State.
Colorado beats up Utah in a good game tonight and the Buffs win the Pac 12 south. I think they are playing Washington for a playoff spot next weekend despite the 2 losses/loss to Michigan.
I thought A&M looked horrible on Thursday night like they had hit a similar wall to what Nebraska hit.
Washington defense made key stops to get a big win in Pullman for the Apple Cup.
North Carolina State stuns a badly prepared UNC team in Chapel Hill to keep the Heels in a mediocre bowl and get the Pack to a bowl game. Always fun when bad things happen to the Fedora coaching staff.
Mizzou salvaged an SEC win by beating often-ranked Arkansas in Columbia.
Baylor again looks horrible in a loss to Texas Tech.
Iowa State and Kansas came back to reality in blowout losses. Bill Snyder got his 200th win for KSU in that game vs KU. What a miracle of a job he has done in the last 30 years in Manhattan.
Minnesota gave Wisconsin all they could handle but made some bad turnovers late in the game that cost them. Still a really nice 8 win season for the Gophers who were very competitive in losses to Wisky, Nebraska, and Penn State.
Georgia Tech called a halfback pass from the 6 and the RB took it in himself with 30 seconds left to lift GT over Georgia.
Tennessee managed to lose to Vanderbilt. 12 games in and I still don't know what Tennessee is. If things had broken slightly differently, they would be 3 or 4 win team.
Air Force knocked off Boise on a great goal line stand. Memphis outscores Houston. So WMU now in great shape for a NYD 6 bowl game.
Mississippi State blows out Ole Miss to end a mercurial, controversy and injury filled season for the very talented but very flawed Rebels. That was a team that took Alabama to the brink in September.
So lots of coaching stuff to get to this weekend too.
Anybody following the s*** that is going on at Notre Dame? Two days after the NCAA vacated their 2012 and 2013 seasons, they come up with one of the most disgusting performances in recent memory out in Southern California. That entire ND administration needs to go.
LSU sticks with Orgeron a week after they bungled the end of the UF game. OK?
No idea what Arizona will do after a blowout win vs ASU, only their third win of the year. Do they stick with Rich Rod after a horrific season?
Oregon finishes 4-8 even with the upset of Utah last week with a clunker of a loss to Oregon State. Does Helfrich survive?
How excited is Texas to be getting Herman coming off of giving up 48 points to Memphis?
Can Purdue reel in Les Miles? Big Ten West is on solid ground across the board coaching wise if so.
