Oklahoma State just got screwed on a "5th down" level of bad officiating. Game was over. CMU inexplicably given an untimed down. And then, well, amazing.
ECU's pretty good.
Georgia got pushed around and looked really sloppy today. Bad for North Carolina that Chubb couldn't get going until late against Nichols.
Clemson got a huge break, too, what looked like a Troy 99 yard TD fumble return to give them the lead was blown down just before the fumble. They scored on the next play. Watson can certainly get back into the Heisman race, but he is well behind Jackson, Francois, Barrett, and others after 2 games.
I totally ignored Pitt/Penn State for some stupid reason. I had on Nebraska/Wyoming and FSU/Charleston.
FSU/Charleston So was about what you would expect with Charleston missing 10 starters. They have good athletes and they will compete well for their conference. But they were smaller and they made big mistakes especially when they got hit. Bobo Wilson had a scintillating 90 yard punt return for a TD. Francois was not as sharp and didn't run this week, but Travis Rudolph made some fantastic catches. FSU @ Louisville at noon next Saturday will maybe go farther than I thought in the ACC Atlantic race given how Clemson has looked so far.
Nebraska ends up blowing out Wyoming on a windy day in Lincoln. Wyoming came in all full of themselves and full of attitude. Lots of 15 yard penalties in this game and they hung around for 3 quarters. But then they started throwing the ball to Nebraska on every single series, and Nebraska converted them into 28 points. I watched the wind take a forward pass and make it a backward pass, which really was the nail in the coffin for UW today. Craig Bohl gets humiliated one more time in Lincoln. Tommy Armstrong hung in there and had a Tommy day, all over the place with mistakes and good plays. I doubt we can beat Oregon, but we're 2-0 against 2 teams that I don't think completely suck.
I have Kentucky/Florida on now. Kentucky's defense is so bad that it makes Florida's offense look good. Mark Stoops has recruited well but it's not showing on the field at all. If anybody has a better suggestion for the afternoon time slot (Duke/Wake?), please let me know.
