I didn't see a lot yesterday, but we did turn on the Wisconsin/Nebraska game at the wedding reception I was at. Tons of complaints about officiating.
Washington's game winning punt return vs Utah considered very dubious.
Losing to Wisconsin is getting annoying. Pelini got us used to getting trashed by UW. They don't have a QB, they can't score a lot of points against good teams, but Nebraska just could not hit enough plays on offense with our WRs limited by injuries. Lot of screaming about the officials but from my view, Armstrong threw the last play of the game a second too late. I think we come out of the game knowing that we are a very good team and that we can compete in Columbus next week. We still control our own destiny in the Big Ten West if we can knock off tOSU, who struggled with Northwestern at home. NW might be the most improved team over the course of the season.
I have yet to see much of Clemson/FSU. Lots of talk about the officiating there but Clemson's WRs were probably always going to straight beat the FSU secondary. Dalvin Cook is really good, but FSU just isn't quite good enough. Jimbo needs to get his life together. He's turning into Pelini. Recruiting what falls to him, throwing talent on the field and only winning when talent wins, losing his mind as if that does any good. I s till think we blow out UF though because the SEC East, long removed from wins vs UNC and VT, has dissolved into awfulness with Tennessee's loss to a dreadful South Carolina team. Even though Ole Miss is struggling, FSU's schedule has been strong all season long.
Regarding the targeting. If they don't change the rule to punish offensive players for throwing into defenseless position, then the punishment for offensive players is going to be torn ACLs. No incentive for defenders to go for the target zone anymore.
Baylor losing was not surprising even though Texas is not terribly good. Kids who are at BU who are still good kids had to be deflated by the news this week especially about Art Briles but about the university in general. Feels like the death penalty should be coming to BU, or at least Penn State level punishments.
Nobody cared about ND/Miami because both teams are so awful right now.
Can Auburn challenge Alabama?
